Meet Our Staff
Sarah is the Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator for Cancer Navigators. She is responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities. She develops sponsorships and relationships with businesses, individuals, cancer care providers, community organizations and public agencies with a shared interest in the mission of Cancer Navigators. Sarah plans fundraising events and activities, assists individuals and community organizations to develop and implement events and programs to raise money for Cancer Navigators, and publishes regular communications to stakeholders and the public about Cancer Navigators’ mission and activities. She will be out in the community fundraising/friend-raising, event planning and speaking. Sarah is a graduate of the University of Georgia and received her ABJ in Public Relations. She has spent a majority of her career working for non-profit and not-for-profit organizations. She is married and has a daughter and son.
Denise has a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. She has 35 years’ experience in counseling individuals and families. She uses a variety of approaches to assist cancer patients, caregivers and loved ones in coping with the emotions and changes that cancer brings. Denise has been with Cancer Navigators since 2007. She is married to board member Dan Sweitzer and have they have 2 boys and 1 grandson.
Kim has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia. She has been employed in a variety of social work positions over the past 30 years, providing therapeutic counseling to assist individuals and their families in coping with the effects of serious illness, loss and grief. She obtained a Fellowship in Thanatology from ADEC and an is an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Worker through NASW in 2011. She has been a volunteer at Camp MAGIK since 2008.
Jonna is the Office Assistant at Cancer Navigators. She is the friendly, smiling face that greets patients upon arrival and schedules them with navigators depending on their needs. She tracks patients through our network, manages data, and helps with all office and patient needs. Jonna started working at Cancer Navigators in March of 2016. “I am so pleased and happy to have been given the great opportunity to work with a special team in order to provide to cancer patients throughout their journey,” she said.
