Meet Brad – Fighter, Provider and Cancer Navigators Ambassador
Imagine being diagnosed with cancer, traveling 108 miles round-trip over 30 consecutive weeks for treatment and doctors’ appointments, and being a single father of two daughters with special needs. This is daily life for Brad Robinson, who avoids pain medication so he can drive, work, and coach his daughters’ sports teams.
Brad was first diagnosed with bladder cancer in February 2024. He learned about Cancer Navigators from an Atrium Health Floyd teammate who encouraged him to seek help.
“Cancer Navigators provided me with gas cards, supplies, nutrition shakes, counseling, and best of all, connection to a weekend retreat that was life changing for me and my children,” Robinson said. “I’m not sure I could have made it this far without Cancer Navigators’ help.”
It took months for Brad to finally accept assistance from Cancer Navigators, and now he wants everyone to know he is so glad he did, and that no one should journey through cancer alone. Brad is doing well and enjoying a three-month break from treatments!
