Cancer Navigators Receives Community Champion Award
Constellation, an Exelon Company, has presented Cancer Navigators with a Community Champion Award. The organization received a $500 grant as part of the award. The donation will provide gas cards and bus vouchers that can be given to newly diagnosed cancer patients who may need assistance getting to doctor appointments and treatments.
Cancer Navigators Community Outreach Manager Scharla Battle applied for the grant. I applied for gas cards because that is the number one barrier the cancer patients in our area face,” said Scharla. “We can help around 16 patients with this amount of money.”
