Education Navigators

While we know there are no easy answers, Cancer Navigators, you, your caregivers and your medical team will travel through the process together to find the best pathways for this difficult journey you are taking.

Patients who participate in small groups for support tend to have better medical outcomes than many of those who don’t. These groups offer you knowledge about your condition and the full range of treatments that may include complementary therapies such as meditation, acupuncture, massage, nutrition, Yoga or others that often can increase your endurance and confidence to respond to medical therapies. Plus they offer support and reassurance.

Our educational mission is to help support cancer patients and their loved ones body, mind and spirit and to provide education and understanding of what they are going through.

We offer weekly support groups, where cancer patients can encourage and each other during their battle. Our Renewal Retreats offer a weekend in a sanctuary with others on their journey to renew, connect and learn.

Other programs include our monthly Caring for the Caregiver workshops that share how to make sure key caregivers are talking care of themselves as they join their loved one on their journey. Our Cancer To Health 26-week series for breast cancer patients seeks to offer support, guidance and resources for stage 2 and stage 3 breast cancer patients in order to reduce stress, boost immune systems and offer weekly reassurance and discussion. Cancer Navigators is the first in Georgia to offer this program.

We also collaborate with our healthcare partners and the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition at health fairs and initiatives that seek to bring awareness to the community at large.
